SmartQ V7 Review: Cheap Mobile Internet Device / Tablet

For those of you who do not know, tablets are sleek little devices that allow you to do things you can on a normal computer. An MID (or Mobile Internet Device) is a device which enables you to connect to the internet through Wi-Fi or through 3G in this case. They run a wide variety of operating systems, including: Linux, WinCE, Android, and Apple software. Today, I will be reviewing the SmartQ V7 Internet Tablet, which comes at a low price of $248.99USD/$257.90CAD at AllPMP. Compared to the Apple Ipad, the SmartQ v7 is a better deal, whose starting price is $499 USD and is not available in Canada at the moment.

If you are interested in a device that can access the internet, read e-books, read PDFs, play HD videos at 1080p, play music, view images and read comics/manga, all packed in an easily portable device, then read on!

Google Images Gets A Revamp! Its Time For Change! [Update]

So it seems that Google wasn’t ready for the change as they have just reverted their whole system back to the way it was.

It seems that the users of the search engine showed very negative feedback. A quick Google search revealed that many people showed signs of discontent while using the new layout of the image search.

It seems that some things just shouldn’t change, and Google is definitely one of them.

Google Images Gets A Revamp! Its Time For Change!

So many of you might have noticed but Google has just changed their whole Image search format.

Right now the search giant has implemented a more flashy way of displaying images as opposed of the old simplistic way. The search no longer displays what website the picture is from immediately. When hovering your mouse over a picture the picture pops up using a box effect and displays more info about the picture!

So is there anybody out there opposed to this new layout?

Apple Offering Free Cases to Unhappy Iphone Owners

So Apple has been neglecting their responsibility of the Iphone antenna problem but a few days ago, Steve Jobs gave a response. Apple who did not really want to apologize for this matter, had to admit it was happening. After all, everybody realized this was a wide-spread matter.

So to please Apple customers, Apple will be offering free cases to everybody interested. The sign up page will open next week. Of course Apple does not have enough “Bumper”s to give to everyone, so they will be using cases from other manufacturers too. Anybody who bought a Bumper can get a refund and keep their bumper.

Just a nice DIY Wristband "Case" found on www.trendsupdates.com

Its great that Apple is doing something about this mess but my question to you is, why do you guys still bother buying Apple products? Does anybody own an iPhone 4G? If so are you planning to ever get an Apple product again?

Electricity Generator in a Form of a Battery

Brother Industries have created a prototype of an electricity generator through vibration. It can be the size of a AA or AAA battery. This device will be presented next week, during Techno-frontier 2010 in Tokyo.

Vibration-powered Generating Battery is a self-loading battery. It creates electricity of about 10-180 mV during vibrations of about 4-8 Hz. This isn’t alot, so we can’t think about charging a smartphone, but this is perfect for a TV remote. The producer hopes that the use of such devices will lower the amount of waste.

Iphone 4’s Antenna Bug is Something to Laugh About

By now we would all know that the Iphone 4 is released and contains a load of bugs. One problem with this phone is when held with the left hand, your palm comes into contact with 2 of the Iphone’s antennas bridging them making your service signal dissipate.
So what’s Apples response to this? Well they think it is not a problem and it is being dismissed. Their answer is that you folks are holding the Iphone “improperly” or in his words (quite bluntly actually), wrong.

Intel Putting an End to PCI

PCIs are dead

There is word that Intel will be putting a stop to supporting the PCI bus and switch mainly to PCI-E in its newer H67, P67, and H61 boards for the Sandy Bridge platforms.

The PCI bus, which is still a much widely used bus for many devices, can still be used in the newer platforms. The halt of production of chipsets without the PCI will have many problems on its users, as some X-Fi sound cards still come in PCI.

The PCI buses will only be excluded on consumer boards. Intel plans to support the 32-bit interface on enterprise-oriented (servers and such) chipsets.

YouTube – Like a Soccer Stadium

Vuvuzel’s, plastic trumpets, which are most commonly used in the WC games in South Africa, have been introduced to YouTube.

The sound has been added to videos on YouTube. You can turn it on during any movie, but this option wasn’t introduced in all videos in Google’s services.
